The Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds notched another 281 Conference win as they defeated the Sunshine Bible Crusaders 80-48 on Friday, February 15, at Wolsey.
The Warbirds hit the floor running, and never looked back as they led by 20-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Crusaders gave it all they had and pulled within 10 at the half mark, 36-26, but that was as close as they could get. The fast-paced offense of the Warbirds began to wear down the Crusaders in the third period causing numerous turnovers. The Warbirds' bench took over in the last quarter to secure the win.
Once again, there were four Warbirds in double figures. Lorenzo Williams put in 17; Ryan Sprecher got 15; Alex Babcock, 14; and Hayden Hooks, 13. Roy Lumpkin had 8; Ryne Johnson, 7; Chris Williams, 4 and Randy Neuharth got 2 to finish out the Warbird scoring. The rebound column filled up with Lumpkin getting 10 and Lorenzo Williams, Hooks, Sprecher and Babcock all with six.
Hooks led the assist column with eleven and Lorenzo Williams was credited with five steals.
The JV team won their game 31-23. Hunter Johnson led the scoring with 11 counters. Andrew McKown put in eight; and Carter Langbehn and Cole McGehee both had six. John Hamilton and McGehee each pulled down four rebounds and Johnson led the steal column with four.
