Wolsey-Wessington Girls’ Varsity Volleyball traveled to Kimball and came out champions at the KWL tournament last Saturday, September 28, 2013. UPDATE

The Lady Warbirds had a clean sweep in Kimball September 28 taking all three matches.

The day started for the Warbirds against the South Central Cougars. The Warbirds came out swinging; winning the first two games 25-18 and 25-22. Brittney Bergquist was 11/11 and Abbey Tschetter 9/10 with two aces each.

Six kills was the number for the match, with Megan Eggleston 20/21, Bergquist 16/19 and Tschetter 16/16 all getting six kills.

Assists were led by Jadyn McCready 26/27 with nine and Ashley Eggleston 34/41 with eight.

A.Eggleston led the digs with eight, a close second was Monica Hentzi with seven and M. Eggleston with five.

At the net Tschetter led with four block to Bergquists one.

Match two

Jones County Coyotes 25-17, 19-25, 25-11

A.Eggleston led the serving 16/17 with two aces, and Bergquist was 100% 13/13 with one ace.

Attacking was led by Hentzi 31/36 with nine kills. Tschetter followed with 20/24 with six kills, and M. Eggleston was 13/14 with four kills.

Warbird assists were tied at 10 each for A. Eggleston 47/47 and McCready 46/47. Zerfoss had 12 digs; M. Eggleston had eight and Hentzi had seven.

Tschetter led the block with four.

Match three

Kimball White Lake WildKats 25-20, 24-26,26-24

Kimball/White Lake proved to be a tough battle for the Lady Warbirds.

Offensively for the Warbirds Bergquist went 24 for 25 with four aces, Hentzi was 9/10 with two aces and M. Eggleston was 10/11.

Attacking was Tschetter 27/29 for seven kills, M. Eggleston was 27/28 with eight kills, and Bergquist 13/20 also with eight kills.

Assists were led by A. Eglleston 64/65 with 16, and McCready was 27/27 with eight assists.

Defense was let by the trio of Bergquist 15/18, Hentzi 12/14 and Zerfoss 9/12. Bergquist was also successful at the net with five blocks.
