The Rustlers hosted the Ipswich Tigers Thursday night for a 3-0 win.

The Tigers offered three challenging games for the Rustlers with scores of 27-25, 25-21 and 25-22. The team recorded 31 kills led by Jamie Mentzer with nine, while Kristen Peterka added 12 and Christina Koeck with four.

Work at the service line produced 2 aces for the Rustlers and team scoring of 87%. Serving was led by Christina Keck with 15 for 15, Kristen Peterka with 10 for 11 and Jenna Heilman11 for 11.

Peterka stepped up defense at the net to record one block and 12 kills, Mentzer added five blocks and nine kills.

The Rustlers scored 30 assists, Danae Sclechter added 24 of them. Team passing was was 92% and 58 digs. Leading was Mentzer with 15 for 15 and 16 digs, Macee Fanning was 89% with 11 digs, Koeck had 12 for 14 with 11digs and Peterka rounded out the passing with 17 for 18 and nine digs.

The night was a split for the junior varsity and “C” team. The JV team battled in two 19-25 and 20-25, loosing to the Tigers.

The JV were led at the serving line by Tia Pawlowski with five points and two aces while recording three of the teams eight kills. Shae Knox tallied 6 of the teams 28 digs.

The “C” team took their match with 25-18 and 25-23. Sarah Martchinske led at the service line with 8 points and three aces, while Shaly Werdel led offense at the net with one kill. Defensive efforts were led by Brooke Lettau with four digs of the team’s 17 digs while the team recorded two blocks.
