Collin McClain of Miller participated in the Dordt College Ideafest on Thursday, April 18. McClain is a freshman majoring in history. He presented “Michael Jordan and Mars Blackmon: What’s the Point?” Ideafest is an afternoon celebration of academic achievement filled with presentations, art projects, artistic performances, and documentary films all researched and created by students. Dordt College is located at Sioux Center, Iowa.

Jordan DeBoer, Miller, has been awarded a $500 educational award in a national competition with other students who are members of Modern Woodmen of America. DeBoer is one of 100 grant winners chosen this year. He plans to use the grant toward attending the University of South Dakota. He is the son of Doug and Linda DeBoer.

Philip Seaman, Miller, a senior at Sunshine Bible Academy, was recently awarded the DSU Presidential Champion Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to high achieving students based on ACT scores and high school GPA. Seaman will be attending Dakota State University in Madison in the fall to pursue a degree in digital arts and design.
