Jamie Mentzer broke the high jump standard with her 4’ 11” jump at the Ipswich Relays last Saturday. It also earned her second place at the meet.

Mentzer qualifies for State Meet

We are grateful that we finally were able to have a track meet. MHS athletes took advantage of a nice day to compete at Ipswich on Saturday, April 27.

Jamie Mentzer broke the high jump standard, qualifying her for the State Meet in that event. Emma Steers bettered her State Meet qualifying time in the 100-meter hurdles.

I was happy with our effort and our focus throughout the meet, and felt we gained insight to what is possible. As the season progresses, our times and distances will continue to improve.

I am really proud of the effort of our athletes this season. The cancellation of meets has not damped the attitude of our tracksters. They have maintained a positive attitude. We are looking forward to the coming meets and the opportunity to better our performances.
