Rustlers outlast Falcons

The Miller Rustler boys’ basketball team hosted the Todd County Falcons February 9, honored their parents with Parents’ Night, and captured the 56-49 victory.

The Rustlers captured the early first quarter lead, 11-7. They extended their lead in the second quarter outscoring the Falcons 16-15 to bring the score to 27-22 at halftime.

The Falcons clawed back to within two at 36-34 at the end of the third quarter. The Rustlers put the game away with a 20 point fourth period, while allowing the Falcons to score 15 points, for the 56-49 final.

Beau Keeter led the Rustlers with 17 points while pulling down seven rebounds and collecting four steals. Lee Sivertsen added 14 points along with three rebounds and three steals. Hayden Herman added seven points along with three rebounds. Preston Blackwell added six points along with a team-high five assists and seven rebounds.

The Falcons were led by Zach Cox with a game high 20 points. Matt Dunham added eight points in the losing effort.
