Rustlers hold off Chieftains

The Miller Rustlers boys’ basketball team traveled to Stephan to take on the Crow Creek Chieftains on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The Rustlers came home with a hard fought 54-50 victory over the Chieftains. The Rustlers trailed after the first quarter 11-10, but surged in the second quarter to take a 28-25 halftime lead. The third quarter was tightly contested as the Rustlers maintained the three-point lead heading into the fourth quarter at 42-39 and held the Chieftains off in the fourth to take a 54-50 victory.

The Rustlers were led by Beau Keeter with 16 points off the bench along with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Lee Sivertsen added 13 points. 11 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Preston Blackwell added 11 points, grabbing seven rebounds with three steals and an assist. Haydn Herman netted 10 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Drew Beilke netted two points while grabbing a single rebound. Kris Wharton scored two points for the Rustlers.
