The Miller Rustler football team defeated the Sully Buttes Chargers 22-8 in Onida Friday night, Sept. 28.
Freshman kicker Devon Gnat added a 27-yard field goal in the first quarter to start the Rustler scoring.
Lee Sivertsen led the attack offensively with 190 of the 317 rushing yards on 17 attempts for 11.2 yards per-carry average, including touchdown runs of 86, 20 and 16 yards. Kris Wharton added 106 yards on 16 carries, and Austin Shaff added 27 yards on seven carries.
Defensively, the Rustlers were led by Sam Simons, who tallied 10 tackles. Wyatt Strasburg and Austin Shaff each added six tackles, while Drew Bielke and Tre Blasdell had an interception and a fumble recovery, respectively.
The Chargers were led by freshman quarterback Scott Sentfner who was 10-29 passing for 125 yards, 98 of which were completed to receiver Cody Nelson. Leading the way for the Chargers on the ground was Jace Anderson with six attempts for 59 yards.
The Rustlers will be back in action Friday, Oct. 5, as they host Herreid-Selby Area at 7 p.m.
