Rustlers corral Buffaloes

The Miller Rustlers boys’ basketball team took on the Stanley County Buffaloes in Fort Pierre on Friday, Feb. 15, bringing home the victory by a score of 64-45.

The Rustlers asserted their dominance in the first quarter, outscoring the Buffaloes by a score of 22-11. The Rustlers extended their lead in the second quarter to 18 at a score of 37-19 heading into halftime. The Rustlers took a 17-point lead in the third period at 47-30, heading into the fourth quarter. The Rustlers added their lead to 19, with 17 points in the fourth quarter making the final score 64-45. The Rustlers shot 28-50 (56%) from the field while committing just 10 turnovers.

The Rustlers were led by Beau Keeter with 18 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Haydn Herman added 16 points and three steals. Lee Sivertsen netted 11 points while grabbing one rebound. Drew Beilke netted seven points four assists and three steals.

The Buffaloes were led by Tucker Fishbach with 17 points. Kevin Anderson added nine points in the loss.

The Rustlers also dominated the junior varsity contest taking the victory by the score of 42-16.
