Rustler boys fall to Platte-Geddes Panthers

The Miller Rustler boys’ basketball team traveled to Platte Saturday, Jan. 2 to take on the Platte Geddes Black Panthers, where they suffered a 59-48 loss to the Pantheres.

The Rustlers struggled out of the gate, falling behind 21-8 after the first period. The Rustlers were never able to recover from their slow start, and trailed at halftime 30-17. They were able to cut the lead to 11 after the third quarter, but that would be the closest they would get at 45-34.

Lee Sivertsen led the Rustlers with 11 points, six rebounds and two steals. Beau Keeter added 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Preston Blackwell added nine points and a team-high eight rebounds, three assists and a steal. Haydn Herman added seven points and four rebounds. Brendan Letsche added four points, one assist and one steal. Mason Chapin added three points and a rebound. Drew Beilke added two points and a rebound, with Kris Wharton adding two points and a steal.

Coby Johnson led the Panthers with 19 points.
