Roger Dean Kindle 1947-2013
Roger Dean Kindle Sr., 65, of Olympia, Wash., died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at his daughter’s home after a long illness.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at Funeral Alternatives, Tumwater, Washington.
He was born June 24, 1947 to Joe and Grace Kindle in Miller, S.D., where he spent his entire childhood.
He graduated from Miller High School in 1965. That fall he attended automotive school in St. Louis, Mo. He went into the Army in 1966, and was discharged in 1969.
He was an automotive tech in the Army, and after his discharge he worked for various automobile repair shops.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Sharon Freimark of Miller, on March 18, 1967. To this union a daughter and son were born.
Roger was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues, and attended many state and national tournaments. He loved camping with family and friends, where he would always get a game of cribbage going. He was also very involved with the Moose and Eagles lodges.
After his retirement in September 2010, he continued to work on his own, while at home and having fun with family and friends.
He leaves behind to carry on his memory his wife Sharon; a daughter Robin (Pat) Colvin; a son, Roger Kindle, Jr.; two daughters-in-law, Wendy and Karrie; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandi, Aarron, Alicia, Lindsay and Landon; two great-grandchildren, Jaysen and Charlie; four brothers, Joe Kindle of Mitchell, S.D., Herman (Linda) Kindle, Bobby (Jeannie) Kindle and Larry (Cindy) Kindle, all of Pierre, S.D.; one sister Carol (David) Hines of Rapid City, S.D.; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Carolyn Danburg of Miller; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Grace Kindle; brother, Gary Kindle; nephew, Mike Kindle; and grandson, Adam White.
