With two outs, Kara Baus hit a three-run homer for a total of seven more runs in the second inning. After adding nine more runs in the third inning, the game ended 22-1. “Everyone was hitting the ball solid none-the-less!,” noted Coach Pam Edgar.

Rockham won the next game 15-1 against Vision Care/R&S Racing of Sioux Falls. “Danielle Waldner was very busy in left, making some very nice catches. Kara Baus at third and Rachael Martinmaas at short also added to the stout defensive making outstanding plays,” Edgar said.

On Sunday morning, Rockham played the 2012 Division 4 runner-up, Lost Cause of Rapid City. Rachael Martinmaas and Roni Levtzow went three for three and Chloe Edgar two for two at the plate. “Lost Cause pitched fast, short, deep…it just didn’t matter,” Coach Edgar said. The second inning was explosive with Rockham’s offense scoring 10 runs on 11 at bats. In the bottom of the second inning, Lost Cause had runners on first and second. With a great catch in right center, Edgar ended the inning and their momentum. In five innings, Rockham won 13-2, advancing them to the championship game.

Nilsson Farms of the Aberdeen league came back through the loser’s bracket to play Rockham for the 2013 Division 3 title. Courtney Albrecht went three for three at the plate. Rockham scored five runs in the second inning, one in the fourth, and five in the sixth.
