The C&NW Historical RR Depot in Redfield will host Christmas at the Depot on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 7, 8 and 9.
A special feature this year will be the Lebahn Family Christmas train, which will be providing train rides from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Other special activities include the Live Nativity on Saturday, Dec. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.; visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday Dec. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.; the displays of Fenner’s Model Trains; and over 30 Christmas trees decorated by local residents and groups throughout the weekend.
The Lebahn Holiday Train is comprised of several parts. The engine is a converted two-ton grain truck while the coal car is made from a fire engine utility box. The frame of the passenger car is made out of a cattle feeder and the caboose was created from scratch.
Passengers will be welcomed on the Lebahn Holiday Train for free 20-minute rides. The coal car can hold about 16 people while the passenger car and caboose hold approximately 25 people. Both the passenger car and caboose have benches, are heated and decorated with a Christmas theme.
