The past week proved to be a slower-paced one at Friendship Center–for whatever reason, no one knows. Maybe we have “spring-fever!”

One of the writers of pool news, and a player, is on vacation, I’ve been told. But here is the news I have been given. On Monday, April 29 the players were Jim DeGeest, Bob Slunecka and Charles Droz.
April 30: 8-ball & 9-ball Snooker, “all fun pool.” We aren’t mixed up. We just play pool! It all started with Merv Mewes, Charles Droz and Warren Skinner. We played three-player 8-ball for most of the time before Travis Letsche came and we became two pair. All in all we played pretty even–really. Then lunch! When you are winning or losing, it’s the high time of the day! Leave your pool-shooting behind for a time. Enjoy life!! After lunch we lost Mewes and Droz to other commitments, and that left Letsche and Skinner to play. First game we played was Snooker. The outcome was as expected, I was in it until the colored-ball time, then it got harder to find balls on the table to shoot. I did get the “7.” Over to the 8-ball table. I mentioned a 9-ball game and Letsche said “I’ll teach you.” Okay! New experience! I learned and I had fun. It is a faster game to lose if you don’t watch what you are doing. Evidently I had dark glasses on, cause I didn’t see much light. But it was a great time, I had a good teacher and it was fun. Come play. We invite you any afternoon except Saturday and Sunday.
May 1 players were Jim DeGeest, Warren Skinner, Shar George and George Mogle.
May 2: Charles Droz, Merv Mewes, George Mogle and Warren Skinner were at the pool table until Charlotte Evans and Marvin VanDerWerff came for their afternoon at the game. Then the guys moved to the Snooker table to finish out the day.
May 3 found only Bob Slunecka and Charles Droz playing pool.
