Compulsive overeaters are invited to a new weekly meeting of Overeaters Anonymous, beginning Monday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Hand County Courthouse.
Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is not a diet club. There are no dues, fees or weigh-ins. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.
Founded in 1960 with three members, OA views compulsive overeating as a physical, emotional and spiritual disease that can be arrested but not cured. Members seek recovery on all three levels by following a 12-step program.
Overeaters Anonymous is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement, ideology or religious doctrine.
For more information, call 853-2241 or leave a message for a return phone call. Interested persons can visit the OA website at www.oa.org.
