New hours for Post Office
The weather this past week was pretty nice for the most part with the temperatures into the 70s and 80s. The later part was cooler, with rain on Friday and Saturday and temperatures only into the 40s for daytime highs. The rain started on Thursday. We had .46 of an inch on Friday and Saturday’s total for the morning was 1.06 of an inch. There were reports that were not as high for the totals depending on location. This is what the official gauge said. Of course it is still raining. This is more that we had for the entire month of September, when we only had 1.35.
A special meeting was held the middle of September on what they were going to do with the Ree Heights Post Office. Results are that Ree Heights will go to two hours every day from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. six days a week. The lobby will be open 24 hours, seven days a week, so you will be able to get your mail anytime.
Delton and Carole Beck went to Sioux Falls Thursday, where Delton consulted the doctor. On their way home they stopped and visited briefly at the Jared and Laura Beck home in Huron and at the Jeff and Margie Parmely home in Miller.
The other day I helped my six-year-old granddaughter with her homework. She was writing numbers, but one was difficult to read, “What number is that, Sweetie?” I asked, and she replied, “Five.” Trying to get her to print a bit neater, I asked, “Do you think your teacher will know that’s the number five?” “Oh, yes. Nana,” she replied. “My teacher’s really smart. She even wears GLASSES!”
