Miller takes Kimball in four

The Miller Rustlers volleyball team met Kimball October 14 on the Rustlers’ home court, and took three out of four matches, raising the season record to 16 wins, seven losses.

Team scoring was at 89 percent with nine aces. Leading the scoring was Denae Schlechter with 93 percent, eight points and two aces. A close second was Kristen Peterka 11 for 12 with four; Jamie Mentzer 80 percent, five points, two aces; Schlechter 93 percent, eight points, two aces. Christina Koeck was 12 for 14, seven points and three aces.

Team attacks were at 93 percent, with 32 kills and five blocks. Peterka led at the net with 88 percent, 11 kills, three blocks. Mentzer at 79 percent, 11 kills and two blocks. Schlechter was 100 percent at the net, one kill.

Assisting for the Rustlers was Schlechter with 100 percent, 28 assists and Jenna Heilman also 100 percent with one assist.

Team passing was 88 percent and 69 digs. Koeck was nine for 12 with 23 digs, Mentzer answered a close second 14 for 14 with 10 digs. Macee Fanning eight for eight, with nine digs and Heilman nine for 10 with five digs.

The JV team fell to Kimball into straight matches 21/25, 24/26. With seven total aces serving was led by Kayla Boomsma with eight points, two aces. Shae Knox was a quick second, three points, two aces. Megan Fiala added four points and one ace.

Defensive stats 43 digs nine blocks for the team. Claudia Rombough led the digs with 10. Boomsma was a quick second with nine digs and three blocks. Taica Blasdell and Kendra Krosch were great at the net with three blocks each.

The “C” team also had a rough time with Kimball, losing two of three matches 18/25, 25/21, 3/15.

Serving points to the team was 19 with 11 total aces. The scorers for the Rustlers were Brooke Lettau, seven points and four aces, and Allison Grogan with six points and three aces.

Total digs for the Miller Rustler C team is 23 with one block. Leading defensively was Paige Kilker with four digs and one block, Jennifer Kenaston with seven digs, Maycee Mohr with four digs and Allison Grogan, three digs.

Offensively, the Rustlers were hot with 11 assists and 13 kills. Shaly Werdel led with 10 assists and one kill. Allison Grogan had six kills and Maycee Mohr four kills.
