Miller man arrested on five charges

Daniel Colby Martin Shaw, 23, of Miller, has been arrested and charged with five various counts of burglary and theft.

A number of thefts have been reported in the Miller area in recent months, and Shaw has been charged in several of them.

Count 1, first-degree burglary, is a class two felony. Shaw is charged with a break-in at GreenLine Implement on October 4, with intent to commit a crime.

Count 2, third-degree burglary, is a class five felony. The charge is that Shaw entered or remained in the GreenLine Implement structure, with intent to commit a crime.

Count 3, third-degree burglary, is a class five felony. The charge is that the defendant entered a residence on East First Street on or about September 28, with intent to commit a crime.

Count 4, criminal entry of a motor vehicle, is a class one misdemeanor. Shaw is charged with entering a GMC motor home, with the intent to commit a crime. The motor home belonged to the resident at the East First Street site.

Count 5, first-degree petty theft, is a class one misdemeanor. The charge alleges that Shaw committed theft of property at GreenLine Implement, valued at more than $400 but less than $1,000.

The complaints arej based upon observation and investigation by law enforcement.

Bond was set at $500, and a bond hearing was held in Huron on October 23.

Shaw is scheduled to make his initial appearance with his attorney at Circuit Court in Miller on November 12.
