Miller fifth graders have good basketball season

The Miller girls’ fifth grade basketball team participated in two tournaments.

They played in the NSU tournament in Aberdeen February 17. Their first match-up was against Aberdeen Roncalli, with Miller losing 16-27. The second game was against the Jamestown, N.D. team, which Miller won 30-19. They were also victorious in their third game, winning 29-18 against the Aberdeen Central Eagles.

The team participated in the Boys’ and Girls’ Club tournament in Watertown March 2. The first match-up was against a tough Sioux Falls Power team, with Miller losing by only nine, with a final score of 21-30. The second game was against Watertown, and Miller won by a score of 33-27. The girls also won the final game against Marshall, Minn., with a score of 31-25.

The Miller girls will be playing March 23 at the Nordby Center Showtime Classic in Huron, and then March 29-30 in Brookings at the Willie Mac Hoops.
