Miller FFA competes in area Career Development Events

The Miller FFA Chapter has competed in some area Career Development Events (CDEs) in preparation for the state competition, which will be held April 14-16 at the State FFA Convention in Brookings.

The Miller FFA Chapter participated in the Redfield CDE March 1 and the following teams and individuals placed:
Crops team placed third; Clayton Keck individually placed third.

Livestock team placed third; Jaden Kellogg individually placed fifth.

Ag Mechanics team placed third; Tanner Cain individually placed eighth.

Meats team placed fifth and individually placed sixth.

Natural Resources team placed sixth; Caitlynd Krosch individually placed eighth.

Horse judging team placed sixth.

Floriculture team placed seventh.

Farm Business Management team placed eighth.

The local FFA members participated in the Bowdle FFA Booster Club CDE March 6. The following teams and individuals placed:
Natural Resources team placed sixth; Brendon Letsche placed ninth.

Livestock team placed sixth; Jaden Kellogg placed second.

Dairy Foods placed fifth; Brooke Joy placed first and Rhett Wagner placed eighth.

Meats team placed fifth; Lexy Gimbel placed fourth and Nick Ortmeier placed 10th.

Farm Business Management team placed fourth; Ashley Bertsch placed third, Hiedi Hoftiezer placed ninth, and Martina Kittelson-Caviness placed 10th.

Crops team placed first; Clayton Keck placed first, Daxton Diede placed fourth and Tate Ketelhut placed eighth.

Ag Mechanics team placed first; Tanner Cain placed first, Paul Waring second and Nathan Bertsch placed seventh.

Nursery/Landscape team placed first; individually, Caitlynd Krosch placed first, Megan Fiala placed second and Allison Hasart placed sixth.

The next CDE for the Miller FFA judgers was Little “I” on March 22 on the SDSU campus.

Nursery/Landscape team placed first; Caitlynd Krosch placed second, Clayton Keck placed third, Megan Fiala placed seventh, and Allison Hasart placed 23rd.

Crops team placed third; Clayton Keck placed third, Daxton Diede placed 13th and Tate Ketelhut placed 16th.

Dairy Foods placed ninth.

Floriculture team placed 13th.

Meat team placed 15th.

Natural Resources team placed 19th.

Miller FFA Chapter hosted its 14th annual CDE April 2, with 509 FFA members from 22 area FFA Chapters. Miller FFA results were:

Nursery/Landscape team placed first; individually, Caitlynd Krosch placed first, Allison Hasart placed third and Megan Fiala placed fourth.

Veterinary Science team placed first; Leanne Koeck placed first, Lisa Koeck placed sixth, Sam Simons placed 10th and Kyle Clement placed 11th.

Crops team placed second; Clayton Keck placed second, Tate Ketelhut placed fourth and Daxton Diede placed sixth.

Ag Mechanics team placed second; Tanner Cain placed second and Dexter Van Zee placed sixth.

Floriculture team placed fifth and Dani Ellsworth placed 10th individually.

Dairy Products team placed seventh; Brooke Joy placed third and Rhett Wagner placed eighth.

Farm Business Management team placed seventh; Christina Koeck placed 10th.

The Livestock team placed seventh.

The Meats team placed ninth.

In Horse Judging, Lee Sivertsen placed 10th individually.
