Miller Rustlers were on the road, Saturday December 14, 2013 against Cheyenne Eagle Butte Braves.

Miller started out strong leading at the end of the first quarter with 14-7. Beau Keeter led the scoring in this quarter with 10 points and Hayden Herman followed with 4 points in this quarter.

The Rustlers worked hard to maintain their lead in the second quarter but the lead was only four points at the half.

The Braves were in charge during the rest of the game with an ending score of 49-66. Kris Wharton came alive in the fourth quarter with a three pointer and a total of six points in the fourth quarter. Mason Chapin also added a three pointer and three free throws, for six points in the fourth quarter.

Leading rebounder was Preston Blackwell with eight and Hayden Herman was a close second with seven. The Rustlers had a total of 36 rebounds.

The Rustlers struggled with turnovers during the game with 29 and eight steals. It was a physical game with the Rustlers acquiring 23 fouls and the Braves having 29. Rustler Herman and Keeter both fouled out of the game. Zavier Noris fouled out for the Braves.

Miller JV game

The Miller Junior Varsity boys basketball team also fell to the Braves in Saturday night action. The Rustler fought out of a deficit at the end of the first quarter to be tied at the half 17-17. The Braves came back from the break with a a renewed spirit keeping the lead until the end of the game. The Braves took this game 37-45.

Scoring was lead by Cory Breland with 11 and Eric Hasart and Colton Peterman tied with seven points each.

Total rebound for the JV game was 23. Leading the rebounds were Cody Naber with seven and Riley Mullaney with six.

Fourteen turnovers were made during the game. The Rustlers make six blocks and five steals.

Tate Ketelhut fouled out for the Rustlers. Team fouls were 17 for the Rustlers and 11 for the JV Braves.
