LaVonne M. Biegler 1938-2012


LaVonne M. Biegler, 74, of Rapid City, S.D., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. 

Services were held Thursday, Oct. 4 at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor David Schwan and Pastor Paul Winckler officiating. Burial followed at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. 

LaVonne was born July 22, 1938 in Wolsey, S.D. to Clarence and Elizabeth (Siemens) Kuehl. She was raised in the Wolsey area and graduated from Wolsey High School. She married Donald R. Biegler on June 9, 1957 in Huron, S.D. They moved to Black Hills in 1959 where they raised their family. LaVonne purchased Prestige Dry Cleaners in 1992 and was still actively working in the business. 

LaVonne was a creative person and was always involved with various arts and crafts. In her younger years she was a bowler. She was an avid reader and loved to play bridge. Her grandchildren were the joy to her heart. 

LaVonne was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rapid City. 

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Weller of Rapid City; two sons, Marty (Gerri) Biegler of Reno, Nev., and Michael Biegler of Rapid City; two brothers, Eugene Kuehl of Rapid City and Don (Ruth) Kuehl of Wilmer, Minn.; her sister, Marcene Sandau of Sioux Falls; and two grandchildren, Kasi and Jeff Biegler, both of Reno. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald; son-in-law Stanley Weller; two brothers, Jack and Lloyd; and her sister, Eunice. 

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
