Large crowd attends funeral
Carol Grabin, Twila Zastrow and Sonia Schelske met Doris Knight of Watertown at Huron for the South Dakota State Quilters Convention Friday and Saturday.
Evelyn Wulff joined Doug and Barb Schleder at the Darlene Fousek home Tuesday evening for supper and a visit.
Several area folks attended the prayer service and funeral for Margaret Knippling Tuesday evening in Miller and Wednesday morning at St. Placidus Church. A large crowd attended the lunch held at the Gann Valley Fire Hall after the funeral. Paul and Margaret raised their family on a Buffalo County ranch where Margaret continued to live. Our sympathies to the family.

Saturday evening, Linda Ness helped Shayda Ness celebrate her seventh birthday at the Ness home.
Juanita Sinkie, Jerri Lutter, Judy Gaulke and Elaine Wulff attended a Legion Auxiliary meeting Monday evening at Wessington Springs.
Linda Ness attended the funeral services for Bert Banek in Kimball on Friday.
Elaine Wulff visited with Juanita Sinkie at her home in Wessington Springs Saturday afternoon.
American Legion Auxiliary
The Abernathy Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary met Monday evening, April 15, 2013, with four members present. President Juanita Sinkie called the meeting to order. The U.S. Flag Pledge was recited and the Chaplain offered prayer.
The treasurer’s report was given and accepted. The membership report was given and we have now reached goal.
The main business of the meeting was to discuss the End of Year Reports. A discussion was held on the topics and projects of our Auxiliary Unit during the past year. The President assigned narrative reports to the members to write and send to the respective chairmen.
Monday morning brought another snowstorm, with some good moisture. Many area folks are busy calving and anxious to get into the fields.
