The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds lost a 281 Conference match-up with James Valley Christian Lady Vikings, 20-51 on Thursday, January 3, at Wolsey. They trailed 5-12 at the end of the first quarter, and then were held to just seven more points to end the first half at 12-36.
The Lady Warbirds just couldn’t get their offense going and the Lady Vikings just kept plugging away for the win. Bailey Zerfoss put in eight points to lead the scoring. Brittney Bergquist had six and pulled down five rebounds. The rest of the scoring came from Meagan Eggleston, Lexi McGillvrey and Cyndee Davis, all with two counters each.
The JV team lost their game, 21-26. They were held scoreless in the first quarter and had only four points at the half mark. They came out of the lockers fired up and scored nine in the third quarter and nine in the fourth, but just couldn’t manage to get on top. Abby Tschetter was in double figures with 10.
Kayla Black had five and Cortney Wuestewald, Kallie Carey and Megan Robinson all had two. Keely Mehling pulled down four boards.
The “C” team got a 22-10 win in their contest. Abby Tschetter put in 10 and Taylor Sprecher and Chelsey Langbehn both had six. Tschetter pulled down five rebounds and had seven steals in the game. Langbehn had four boards and two steals.
