Lady Warbirds fall to Patriots

The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds came up short as they were defeated by the Hitchcock/Tulare Patriots, 58-25, in a 281 Conference match-up on Tuesday, February 12, at Wolsey. This was their last game of their regular schedule and will enter district play on February 18.

The game stayed close in the first half with the Lady Warbirds trailing by only four, 13-17 going into the third quarter. The Lady Patriots caught fire, scoring 17 points and holding the Lady Warbirds to eight to take a 34-21 lead to start the final run and for the win. The balanced scoring was led by Meagan Eggleston with 7; Cydnee Davis, Sidney Carey and Brittany Bergquist all had 4; and Bailey Zerfoss and Megan Robinson both had three in he loss. Bergquist pulled down six boards and Davis had four.

The JV team lost their final game of the season, 34-15. Abby Tschetter scored eight; Jadyn McCready had five and Alyssa Fernholz got two. Fernholz and Tschetter both had four rebounds in the contest.
