Lady Rustlers take three from Springs

Miller girls’ varsity, JV and “C” team were successful against Wessington Springs. Scoring was led by Christina Koeck for the varsity with 20/21 with two aces, Jamie Mentzer was close behind with 15/16 and three aces, Denae Schlechter was 14/16 with two aces as well, and Macee Fanning was 13/13 with two aces. Schlechter was 74/76 with 34 assists.

Passing was led by Peterka 10/12 with 13 digs, Mentzer 21 digs, Fanning nine digs, and Koeck with 10 digs.

Kristen Peterka led attacks with, 39/46 and 17 kills, followed by Jamie Mentzer 19/23 with 13 kills, Christina Koeck 14/17and two kills, Denae Schlechter and Macee Fanning tied with 12 atttacks each two and three aces respectively.

The JV team had a good night, as well, serving was a three way tie of six points each by Shaly Werdel five aces Kayla Boomsma one ace and Shay Werdel two aces. Defensively the team had 40 digs led by Claudia Rombough 10 digs, Shae Knox with 6 and Megan Fiala with five digs.

Offensively the team had 19 assists and 21 kills. Boomsma had 17 assists Rilea Mielke had seven kills, Knox had five kills and Fiala had one assist four kills.

The “C” team also was dominating against the Spartans with match scores of 25-17, 25-9. Shaly Werdel led with 19 points and 11 aces.

Paige Kilker and Shaly Werdel both had four digs. Offensively the Rustlers had 22 assists and 22 kills. Shaly Werdel led with 15 assists and four kills; Maycee Mohr and Kilker for five kills each.
