Lady Rustlers fall to Battlers

After a tough match against the Potter County Battlers, the Lady Rustlers were defeated in the Varsity 0-3 (14-25, 20-25, 21-25), as well as in JV and C teams.

The C-team fell with 1-2 loss (19-25, 25-13, 10-15). Shaly Werdel let with 14 points, four aces, three kills and also three assists. Brooke Lettau also contributed eight point, four aces, two kills and five assists. Eighteen digs were recorded for the C-team, and Paige Kilker achieved two blocks.

The Junior Varsity lost out with 0-2 (17-25 and 21-25). The girls managed ten serving points with seven aces. Lead scorer, Rilea Mielke, racked up six points and three aces. Shae Knox added four points to the total score. Kayla Boomsma achieved seven assists, while Claudia Rombough garnered 11 out of 29 total digs. While on offense, Tia Pawlowski notched a total of five kills.

Serving up for the Varsity was Jamie Mentzer who went 11 for 15 with one ace, while Kristen Peterka and Christina Koeck went eight for eight. Also on offense, Mentzer and Peterka achieved 10 and six kills, respectively, while Denae Schlechter led with 19 assists for a total of 96%.

Defensively, Peterka and Mentzer garnered two blocks each. Peterka achieved an 85% in passing with nine digs. While, Mentzer had 75% and 15 digs. Macee Fanning also swung in with a 75% and earning her own five digs to the team total of 29.
