Junior High takes over Highmore-Harrold

The Miller 7th grade girls’ basketball took a win last Thursday, December 5, 2013 when they visited Highmore-Harrold’s team with a score of 21-19. There season record so far is 5-3.

Lead scores for the Rustlers were Erin Moncur with 5 3-6 for a total of 13, Brooke Sargent with 1 2-4 for a total of four and Emma Breland with 1 field goal 0-2 free throw for a total of two. At the free throw line the Rustlers made 5/12 with a 42 percent average. For Highmore-Harrold, the free throw line proved to be unsuccessful with only 1/8 at 13 percent.

In rebounding, Katie Manning snatched away five while Sargent added another four to the team total of 20. Breland racked up five steals of the total 16 with Moncur putting in another four to the total.

In the final two minutes of the game, Moncur pushed the Rustlers ahead in points by making her two free throw shots, which allowed the Rustlers to maintain the lead and win the game.

Leading in scoring was Annie Keeter with 4 0-0 with a total of 8 points. Tying for second was Teanna Pawlowski, Kassie Schaefers, Moncur, and Sargent all with 2 points each. Kylie Selting made the only free throw of the game.

Keeter also lead the rebounds with five.

The Eighth Grade Rustlers have a season record of 3-5, Their next game is 12-19-13 against James Valley Christian.
