NEW PHONE SYSTEM FOR FSA, NRCS
The FSA and NRCS has recently implemented a new phone system. Please be patient when calling either office, as we are still adjusting to the new system. The options remain the same, FSA is extension 2 and NRCS/Conservation District is extension 3.
FAILED AND PREVENT PLANT ACRES
According to regulations, producers are to report any failed acres to FSA prior to disposition of the crop. If the failed acres were reported to RMA timely, that documentation may be used to approve the failed acreage. With the recent rains, there may be delays in planting row crops. Prevent plant acres must be reported to FSA within 15 days of the final plant date to avoid farm visits and late file fees. The final plant date in Hand County for corn is May 25, soybeans is June 10 and sunflowers is June 20. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office at 605-853-2410 ext 2 or stop in.
