Posted May 21, 2013 at 5:07 pm

Farm Service Agency is reminding farmers and ranchers that our offices will conduct a four week Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) general signup beginning May 20 and ending on June 14. Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack also recently announced the restart of signup for Continuous CRP, which began on May 13 and will continue through September 30th.

Offers for General signup CRP contracts are ranked according to an Environmental Benefits Index (EBI) scoring system. The Farm Service Agency collects data for each of the EBI factors based upon the relative environmental benefits for the specific land offered. Factors considered include: Wildlife habitat benefits, Water quality benefits, On farm benefits from reduced erosion, Benefits that will likely endure beyond the contract period, Air quality benefits and Cost of the offer.

NEW FAX NUMBER FOR FSA

The Fax number for your Hand & Hyde County FSA offices has recently been changed as we convert to Fax2Mail services. In the near future, our traditional fax line will be disconnected. Our new number, which is toll free, is 855-262-0863 for both Hand and Hyde County offices.

We will share this fax number with more than one FSA office.  So, if you send us a fax, make sure to include a cover sheet, and at the very minimum, please be sure to designate which county you are faxing. If you have any questions, or are concerned if your fax was received, please feel free to contact your local office. Thank you for your patience as we transition to our new system.
