In news this week, it seems rather “little” after last week’s huge write-up on the pool players. Here is what they left for me this week
April 30 pool players were Cliff Boldt and Don Soper against Jim DeGeest and Charles Droz. It was two strong teams and a “back and forth” game with Boldt and Soper winning six to five games.
May 1 players were George Mogle, Jesse Hammer, Charles Droz and George Engelmann. No comments were left about their game.
May 2 – With Don Soper back after a brief illness, Warren Skinner and Soper had to play better just to keep up. Their team battled Cliff “Lightning” Boldt and Jim DeGeest to pull out a 5-3 edge, but fell to the Boldt-DeGeest pair for the championship.
May 2 was Snooker evening with Bob Slunecka, Orval Rogers, Jesse Hammer, Charles Droz and Warren Skinner on hand for the evening, and they each had their share of wins and losses. Some played 8-ball and others Snooker, and switched around so they could play two different tables on the same night. “Don’t be afraid of us. Come play!! Sometimes we are pretty good and some nights some of us couldn’t ‘beat scrambled eggs.’ See ya at the Friendship Center.”
May 4 players were George Mogle, Cliff Boldt, Don Soper, Jim DeGeest, Charles Droz and Merv Mewes. No comments were left.
