End of an era
The walls of the 1947 Hand County Memorial Hospital came tumblin’ down Wednesday, Nov. 14. Considering how long it took to build the hospital, which was the pride of Hand County at the time, it took only a few hours to demolish the sturdy brick building. If walls could talk…they could tell many stories of surgeries, recoveries, deaths and—of primary importance—the many babies that were born in the City’s first “real” hospital.
