Cross country hosts invitational

The Miller Rustler cross country team hosted their annual invitational Monday, Sept. 24 at the Miller golf course.

The Rustlers boys’ varsity runners finished strong with a third-place finish. Mason Breitling finished sixth individually with a time of 18:59 to lead the Rustlers. Cole Sargent finished the course in a time of 20:01 to place 13th, Devyn Gortmaker finished 17th with time of 20:37. Beau Keeter finished in a time of 20:56 to finish 22nd, and Trey Waldrop finished 37th with a time of 22:15. Jacob Heezen finished in 22:37 to place 40th and Lucas Simpson finished in 23:15 to place 42nd, to end the day for the boys’ varsity team.

In the junior varsity division on the boys’ side, Hunter Russell placed eighth with a time of 11:35. Jason Manning finished 11th with a time of 11:54. Connor Bertsch and Cody Bevers tied for 25th with a time of 12:51. Clayton Keck finished in a time of 13:07. Trevor Parmely finished 34th with a time of 13:34. Rounding out the boys’ junior varsity team was Camden Breitling, who finished in 40th position with a time of 14:08.

The lone girl in the varsity division is Brianne Bertsch, who finished the course in 18:33, in 25th place. The lone Rustler girl in the junior varsity division was Maddie Simons, who finished in 20:10, in 29th position.
