Fourteen athletes from the Miller Rustler cross country team competed at the Platte/Geddes invitational, held Saturday, Sept. 22.
Six athletes competed in the boys’ junior varsity division, and placed third as a team. Hunter Russel placed eighth individually with a time of 17:07. Jason Manning placed 19th with a time of 18:04, and Connor Bertsch placed 20th with a time of 18:13. Others competing were Cody Bevers, 24th with a time of 18:52; Clayton Keck 25th in 18:53; and Camden Breitling 34th with a time of 21:28.
Brianne Bertsch competed in the girls’ varsity division, and placed 35th with a time of 19:18.
Seven runners competed in the varsity boys’ division, which placed second as a team. Mason Breitling placed eighth with a time of 18:59. Cole Sargent ran the course in a time of 19:04 to place ninth. Beau Keeter placed 25th with a time of 20:22. Devyn Gortmaker placed 27th with a time of 20:24. Trey Waldrop placed 41st with 21:30; Lucas Simpson placed 42nd with 21:39; and Jacob Heezen placed 43rd with 21:43.
