Countdown to Christmas begins with parties, concert

Christmas Eve Mass at Duncan St. Placidus Church will be held at 7:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Linda Ness visited Carol Heath and Delores Kroupa on Tuesday at their homes in Kimball.

Gene and Carol Grabin attended Eastern Star at Wessington Springs Monday night.

The Gann Valley Post Office will close at noon on Monday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve. The post office will be open regular hours on Monday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve.

Linda Ness attended the basketball game in Kimball Tuesday evening to cheer on her granddaughter, Cassie Natvig, a player.

Carol Grabin attended her China Painting group Christmas party at Woonsocket on Thursday.

Wednesday, Linda Ness visited in the Pat and Jeannie Cummings home in Pukwana.

Gene Grabin traveled to the Patrick and Jennifer Cuka home near Sioux Falls Thursday for a visit, returning home on Friday.

Linda Ness attended the Kimball High School music concert Friday evening. Her granddaughter, Cassie Natvig, was one of the performers.

Friday evening Gene and Carol Grabin attended the Corps of Engineers Christmas party in Chamberlain.

Linda Ness attended the pre-school Christmas program in Kimball at the Catholic Church. Her grandson, Synch Ness, participated. That evening Linda attended the St. Margaret’s Catholic Church Christmas program in Kimball.

Gene Grabin attended the Nascar party held at the Hi-Way Store on Sunday.

An overnight rain caused a Saturday morning ice cover.  The highways melted during the day but not much of a thaw elsewhere.  Monday morning the trees showed off a heavy frost.
