Helle Kaufmann, St. Lawrence, SD, pled guilty to a charge of an illegal u-turn, and was fined $120.00.

Kaufman also pled guilty to driving under the influence, second offense. The fine was $1,000.00, plus court costs and surcharges of $179.00. Driver’s license was revoked for 362 days.

Eighty days of a 90-day jail sentence were suspended on the following conditions: participate in the 24/7 program at own expense; attend DUI classes; pay fines, costs and any restitution as ordered; obey all laws of the state, local and federal governments, and immediately advise the assigned court services officer if questioned or arrested by law enforcement; not use alcohol, nor purchase, possess, use or distribute any illegal drugs or substances. The County will have a lien against the defendant at the rate of $25.00 per day for jail confinement.
