Boomsma named NAIA All-American

The 2013 NAIA Men’s Indoor Track & Field All-Americans have been announced. The award winners competed at the 48th annual NAIA National Championships held at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, from February 28 to March 2.  Honors were given to the top eight individuals from each event and all four runners in the top eight relays.

Two Dakota State runners Seth Boomsma and Andy Coy, earned the NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-American honors.

Boomsma earned his first NAIA Indoor Track & Field All-American honor. He finished second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.75 seconds.  He was .06 seconds behind the race winner David Walters of Langston (Okla.). 

Boomsma is the son of Terry and Stacey Boomsma of Crooks, S.D. (Tri-Valley High School). His great-grandmothers are Lydia Hall, Miller, and Helen Boomsma, Huron. Grandparents are Bonnie Hall, Miller, and John an Mareldine Boomsma of Wessington.

He is a sophomore exercise science major at Dakota State University, Madison.
