Residents in the Wessington area community have the opportunity to celebrate life by joining in the community blood drive, to be held Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 2:30 to 6:15 p.m. at the Wessington Legion Hall. The drive is sponsored by the Wessington Ambulance and Firemen.
United Blood Services does a “total cholesterol” test that allows donors to eat before the test, with no fasting required.
If you have never donated before and wonder if you qualify, call 1-800-996-3688 for answers about eligibility.
To schedule an appointment, call Rita Matthews, 458-2322; Dean Duxbury, 458-2555; or Patty Schilling, 458-2462.
Much appreciation goes to those who make the drive possible: the donors; the American Legion for the hall, cups and napkins; to those who prepare the hall for the drive; the Legion Auxiliary for treats and the firemen for the juice; and to the callers-schedulers, Matthews, Duxbury and Schilling.
In this small community, it takes the involvement of everyone to have a successful drive.
