Author Jane Green will speak at the First Presbyterian Church in Miller Thursday, June 6, from 3 to 4 p.m.
Green writes for the Family Matters section of the green sheet Farm Forum as Plain Jane’s Misadventures. She and her husband, Jim, live near Clark, S.D. and raise Registered Angus and Registered Simmental cattle on their farm. She is the author of many books and numerous articles.
Her topic is “Diamonds in the Rough: the country woman’s role in agriculture.” She shares many humorous stories and memories from her experiences. Her article in the Friday, April 5, 2013 Fargo Forum is a typical example of her perspectives: “Forget the Dog; Beware of the Wife.”
Green is also offering an open writer’s workshop on memoir writing from 1-2:30 p.m. for anyone interested in getting some new writing accomplished. The workshop is totally separated from her speaking program by coffee/tea and goodies from 2:30 to 3 p.m. The Red Hat Society will also hold their meeting and meet with her at 2:30 at the church.
The Central Plains Arts Council is sponsoring this program with a grant from the S.D. Humanities Speakers Program.
