American Bank & Trust’s ‘Vote Hometown’ campaign generates local dollars

American Bank & Trust recently completed their “Vote Hometown” campaign encouraging residents to do their �shopping locally this past holiday season.

The purpose of the campaign was to remind consumers that they cast a vote with every dollar that they spend. When consumers shop and invest locally they are voting in support of more money in our local economy. This campaign generated $69,957.88 spent locally throughout the communities that American Bank &Trust serves. Consumers who participated were eligible to win $100 in Community Bucks by submitting six or more receipts from local merchants. Each receipt had to be $10 or more and had to be dated during the promotional period of November 1 – December 15, 2012.

The $100 Community Buck winners were Rose Danburg, Miller; Lori Kenobbie, Wessington Springs; Carla Small, Alpena; Diana LeGrand, Wolsey; Angie Johnson, Mellette; Peggy Shields, Huron; and Bennie Widman, De Smet.

Preston Steele, EVP from American Bank & Trust, stated, “Local purchases keep money in our local economy and contributes to the local tax base. It is important to support our hometown merchants and in turn support our schools, hospitals, arts, and charitable organizations. Together we can build a stronger local economy and a better quality of life.”

American Bank & Trust has eight locations central South Dakota in Wessington Springs, Alpena, Wolsey, Mellette, Miller, De Smet, Huron and Huron Wal-Mart.
