West Hand Baby Beef
On April 13, 2013, nine members attended the West Hand Baby Beef meeting at the Lutheran Church �with the Kecks hosting. Teanna Pawlowski led the flag pledge. The roll call topic was your favorite thing to do outside with no snow. There was no secretary’s report. The treasurer’s report was given and Karli Keck made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and Erin Moncur seconded the motion. The Old Business is, the final project list is due in May and Hand County 4-H received a thank you from Dakota Energy for helping at their annual meeting. New Business was to get your shooting times for state shooting sports to Marlys. You must pay target fees before going to the state shoot. Teanna Pawlowski made a motion to approve the Dakota Energy bills and Brooke Fawcett seconded the motion. Brooke Fawcett made a motion to add Shelley Moncur to the 4-H checking account and Taya Pawlowski seconded the motion. Sara Jessen made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Sydney Jessen seconded the motion. Brooke Fawcett led the 4-H pledge. Erin Moncur gave a demonstration on crayon art. The next meeting will be on May 15, 2013 at the Baptist Church.
On May 15, 2013, 15 members attended the West Hand Baby Beef 4-H meeting with the Jessens hosting the meeting. Garrett Neyens led the flag pledge. The roll call topic was a 4-H project that you were looking forward to doing. Tia Pawlowski gave the secretary’s report. Brooke Fawcett made a motion to approve the secretary’s report and Karli Keck seconded the motion. Brooke Fawcett gave the treasurer’s report. Teanna Pawlowski made a motion to approve the treasurer’s report and Taya Pawlowski seconded the motion. The correspondence was that the May newsletter was sent out. Also that judging schools will be held on June 6, June 20 and June 27. All of the raffle tickets for the bathroom/lunchstand project have been sold. There will be an ice cream social and raffle drawing on June 8. All 4-H members are asked to donate one dozen cookies per family. We talked about state shooting sports and the 4-H camping outing. The next meeting will be on June 8 at the Lutheran Church. Brooke Fawcett made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Haley Schnathorst seconded the motion. Sara Jessen led the 4-H pledge. Sara Jessen gave a demonstration on how to make duct tape belts.

Rogers hosting at the Lutheran Church on June 8, 2013. Taya Pawlowski led the flag pledge. The roll call topic was what you were looking forward to in the summer. Sara Jessen made a motion to approve the secretary’s report and Taya Pawlowski seconded the motion.
There was no treasurer’s report. The correspondence was that the June newsletter has been sent out. The Old Business was the shooting sports bills need to be paid and some 4-H members will be doing a camping trip the last weekend in July. Tia Pawlowski made a motion to do a grill/barbeque lunch during the camping trip on July 28. Teanna Pawlowski seconded the motion. The special foods recipe selection is on June 13. The special foods practice day is on June 11. Fashion revue and public presentations will be held July 10, 2013.
Erin Moncur made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Sydney Jessen seconded the motion. Sam Rogers led the 4-H pledge. Sara Jessen and Sydney Jessen gave their illustrated talks that they will be giving at the county level. After our meeting we headed to the 4-H grounds and had the ice cream social with the ticket drawing. The next meeting is on July 14 at the Cedar Hall.

The Hand-E-Hands 4-H club met June 9, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Miller Methodist Church. Carter Canham was the host.
President Megan Fiala called the meeting to order with Carter Canham leading the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Reporter Kirstyn Fiala did the roll call, with eleven members answering to “What projects are you working on for this year?” Morgan Naber gave the treasurers report, there were no bills presented. Kirstyn Fiala made a motion that the treasurers report be approved, Carter Canham seconded.
In old business, progress on the new lunch stand/restrooms at the 4-H grounds was discussed including a recap of the previous day’s groundbreaking/raffle drawing. Judging schools and the new format for judging were also reviewed. Annie Keeter highlighted articles from the 4-H newsletter.
New business consisted of signing up to help at our club booth at the Farmer’s Market, information about the dog show, and discussion was held regarding road ditch clean up with no set date to clean, members just going when they have time in their schedule.
Kirstyn Fiala made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Carter Canham seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned with Tyra Gates leading the members in the 4-H Pledge. The next meeting will be the tour of exhibits beginning at 4:00 on July 21, the route to be determined later.
Following the meeting, Kirstyn Fiala led members in learning how to judge photography, Marsha Howard led a horticulture exhibit activity, and Carter Canham provided snacks.
